As in other regions in the world, violence against women and girls (VAWG) is a serious health and human rights issue in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). As the magnitude of VAWG has become clearer, national and international institutions have initially focused on protecting victims of VAWG and punishing aggressors with laws, policies, guidelines, and programs.
