The UN Women Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean invites individuals with a distinguished professional background and/or proven activism in gender equality and women’s empowerment to apply to become members of its Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG) for the 2026–2028 term.

CSAGs are institutional mechanisms designed to facilitate regular dialogue between UN Women and representatives of feminist, women’s, and civil society organizations, with the aim of enabling effective, ongoing, and structured consultations on key issues related to UN Women’s triple mandate.

As part of the regional CSAG renewal process, which will be open from its publication until 31 May at 11:59 p.m. (Panama time), members will be selected from among the applications received from countries across the region, in line with criteria of intersectionality and geographic representation. The Terms of Reference can be consulted at the following link

The Group will ensure representation from all subregions of Latin America and the Caribbean (English- and/or French-speaking Caribbean; Mexico, Central America and Spanish-speaking Caribbean; Brazil and the Southern Cone; and the Andean countries) and will include up to 10 representatives from women’s and feminist organizations, including defenders of the rights of Afro-descendant women, Indigenous women, rural women, refugees or migrants, environmental and land defenders, women with disabilities, diversity and dissident groups, youth, academia, and/or trade unions and the private sector.

The composition of the Group will be based on thematic expertise in one or more of UN Women’s priority areas: elimination of violence against women; women, peace and security, humanitarian action and disaster risk reduction; women’s economic empowerment; women’s leadership and political participation; elimination of gender stereotypes and transformation of social norms; and environment and climate change. Participation in the CSAG is in an individual capacity.
