The national epidemic of violence against women and girls is acute in Nicaragua, particularly for indigenous women. UN Trust Fund is supporting an innovative radio project, which is providing consistent information on women’s rights and how to access justice in the local Miskito language. Since 2016, the project has trained women’s rights defenders on effective interviewing and broadcasting techniques, and provided more than 350 solar radios to 115 communities.
